Senses - 2008

'Senses', the 2007/08 conference sponsored by the ManuScript journal, was held at the University of Manchester on 7 December 2007.

The conference was kick-started by a remarkable symposium discussion with esteemed figures from across the humanities fields, including Professor Janet Wolff, Performance, Screen & Visual Cultures; Professor Graham Ward, Theology and Religion; Professor Bertrand Taithe, Cultural History; Professor Simon Guy, Architecture; Dr David Butler, Screen Studies; chaired by Dr Daniela Caselli, Twentieth-Century Literature.

This intensely interdisciplinary atmosphere continued throughout the day, with three groups of parallel panels facilitating the exchange of exciting and diverse new research and presentations from an international assemblage of contributors and delegates.
We are thrilled to be able to include a selection of articles based on papers presented at the conference, as well as reviews of recent books in the field of humanities, in the 'Senses' issue of the ManuScript journal.
