Michael Bibler
Michael Bibler's work examines the intersections between gender, sexuality, and race in American contexts, especially in the literature and culture of the American South during the 19th and 20th centuries.
He has finished a book entitled Cotton's Queer Relations: Same-Sex Intimacy and Social Equality in the Literature of the Southern Plantation, 1936-1968, and he has also written on sexuality in the work of Truman Capote. He is currently researching images of same-sex relations and sexual identities in the antebellum South.
