Art History and Visual Studies currently has 18 MA students and 35 PhD students


Split-Site PhD degree with Sotheby's Institute, London

Art History and Visual Studies offers a split-site PhD where its students are jointly supervised by academic staff in Manchester and at Sotheby's Institute in London.


RAE Results 2008

Art History & Visual Studies made an excellent showing in the RAE 2008 results.

It has been ranked fourth out of thirty Art History units nationally in terms of both quality of research and the benchmarking of research (Research Fortnight analysis)

It has come fifth out of 53 returned units in the University of Manchester.
