Centre writers tipped for success in 2009
Forthcoming novels by three Centre for New Writing teaching staff have been named in a round-up of literary treats in store for the coming year.
Martin Amis, M.J. Hyland and Chris Killen feature in The Guardian's pick of publishers' fiction lists in 2009.
Chris Killen, who joins the Centre as Writing Fellow, in February saw his first novel The Bird Room published by Canongate this month - one of the hotly tipped debuts of the year.
Lecturer M.J. Hyland's third novel This is How (also Canongate) will be published in July. Her last, Carry Me Down, won the Encore prize for best second novel and the Hawthornden Prize.
September sees the release of Creative Writing Professor Martin Amis's "blindingly autobiographical" novel The Pregnant Widow. Watch this space for information on a launch event at the Centre during the next academic year.
