Manchester meets Muldoon
The internationally acclaimed poet Paul Muldoon was in Manchester on 13 December, to give the fifth Rylands Poetry Reading at the newly refurbished John Rylands Library.
The event was presented as part of an ongoing partnership between the library and the Centre for New Writing, and was preceded by an inspirational and invigorating discussion between the poet and the Centre's students on the art of writing poems.
Professor Muldoon, who is Howard G. B. Clark '21 Professor at Princeton University and Chair of the Peter B. Lewis Center for the Arts, went on to delight his audience in a packed reading room, with an engaging performance which included readings from his most recent collection (Horse Latitudes, 2006).
