Joe Pemberton's novel to be re-published
1998 MA in Creative Writing alumnus Joe Pemberton will see his novel, Forever and Ever Amen, re-published by Troubador Publishing in September.The novel is the story of the childhood experiences of James, a nine-year old living in Manchester in the late 1960s. Frequent flashbacks to half remembered events in St. Kitts signal ongoing connections between the two locations. Issues of class, migration, poverty and racism linger at the edge of the boy's partial insights into family happenings and personal histories.
Joe has launched a website to coincide with the publication, at http://www.foreverandeveramen.co.uk/. He will also appear with Jackie Kay on the Literature Live stage in March 2009.
