Sarah Rainbow

Collection Care Officer, Manchester City Galleries

Job overview

I've worked for Manchester Cities Galleries in various roles within the Conservation and Collections Care team for three years. As Collection Care Officer I work on a variety of programmes across five sites including Collection Storage improvements, Environmental Monitoring, IPM, Benchmarking and Policy Development.

Biography

I studied Fine Art BA at Nottingham Trent University then went on to work for the Royal Shakespeare Companies Collections and Archive as a Curatorial Assistant and Documentation Assistant. I then moved to National Museums Liverpool to become an apprentice Frame Conservator at the National Conservation Centre. I was fortunate to get one of the new ICON internships in Collections Care at Manchester City Galleries, a scheme run across the country for traineeships in various disciplines of Conservation; I have worked there ever since.
