MCPT Seminar Series 2007 - What Sort of Living? Public Theology and the Urban Agenda
This series aims to develop in greater detail some of the important issues raised by the recent report Faithful cities: A call for celebration, vision and justice (2006). The report sought to engage issues of urban policy with a public theology which focussed on 'values and visions' to 'flesh out a theological account of the nature of human community and what it might mean to work for the 'good of the city.' This series aims to apply these broad principles to eight specific areas of urban life as 'fleshed out' in cities such as Salford, Manchester and Liverpool. The specific areas to be addresed by this seminar series include:
Young People and the City (see below) 23rd February
Women of Faith as Bridges and Linkers (see below) 23rd March
Health and Well-being (see below) 27th April
Crime, Disorder and Punishment 25th May
The Urban Environment 29th June
Post Colonial City 28th September
Cities of Culture 26th October
The Village in the City 30th November
