Music and Drama Courses

Music at Manchester offers a friendly, open and constructive environment and we enjoy high esteem: the recent HEFCE quality assessment pronounced our teaching 'excellent'; both the 1996 and the 2001 Research Assessments gave music at Manchester the very highest rating, giving us the longest-standing 6* status, shared with only two other music departments in Great Britain. Drama was awarded a 5 (internationally excellent) for its research in the last national Research Assessment Exercise and was also rated as excellent in the 1997 national assessment of teaching of drama.
