• 'PhD Student Julian Hartley (Museology), Helen Stalker, (Assistant Curator of Fine Art at the Whitworth Art Gallery) and Steve Devine (New Media Officer at Manchester Museum) have teamed up with The Guardian’s Northerner blog in a curatorial project that uses a news website as a platform for discovering and exhibiting Prints and Drawings from the Whitworth’s collection.This project forms part of Julian’s research which explores how the Gallery can use digital spaces to open up its collections to new audiences. • Louise Tythacott’s book ‘The Lives of Chinese Objects: Buddhism , Imperialism and Display’ was published in July 2011

• The Centre for Museology completed the development of an interpretation concept for the new Archives+ initiative. More detail.
• The ICP new brochure of short courses and programmes
• The ICP has been commissioned to design & test an evaluation framework for the Greater Manchester Arts Vision Demonstration programme, All About Us
• ICP is working with colleagues at School of Education, University of Derby and Isinglass Consultancy to conduct an evaluation study of a five year Theatre of Debate programme by Y Touring Theatre Company. Discover more

• Centre for Museolology Seminars - Spring 2012
• The Institute for Cultural Practices run regular seminars and workshops on Wednesday afternoons and evenings. This programme is designed for students on Institute for Cultural Practices postgraduate programmes but others are also welcome to attend. It is a mixed programme of research seminars including a forthcoming event on the new Hepworth Wakefield gallery and professional practice sessions including two masterclasses on civic culture by Virginia Tandy

The Martin Harris Centre for Music and Drama hosts a year-round programme of music, theatre, film and literature events.
